# Creating a Profile

Build profiles from the **user menu** (your name, bottom-left) → **Settings → Profiles**.

1. Click **Create Profile**.
2. On the **Details** tab, set:
   * **Name** — for example "CSR Senior".
   * **Role Type** — Admin, CSR, Partner, or Customer.
   * **Description** — what the profile is for (shown in the profiles list).
3. On the **Permissions** tab, configure access:
   * Toggle each **navigation group** on or off to control sidebar visibility.
   * For each resource, set the **access level** (View or Edit).
   * For record-based resources, set the **record access scope** (All records / Created by them / Created or assigned to them).
4. Click **Create Profile**.

Assign the profile to users when you create or edit them (see [Creating a New User](/product/using-peakcommerce/users-and-user-roles/creating-a-new-user.md)). A user's profile can be changed at any time from **Settings → Users**.
